Welcome to Petair Ltd. Our business is to safely transport pets by air and road to many destinations all over the world.  To help us do that, we need to collect and use information about you.

2.      What data we collect, and why

We collect and use the following categories of personal data:

a.       Information we collect from you

To provide you with a quote, to manage your booking and help to manage and improve our services, we may collect:

  • Your name, contact details, information about your pet and information about the journey you wish to book;
  • Payment card information, via a payment provider. We do not directly process or store your payment card information or account details.
  • If you contact us to give feedback on our service, we will use that information to help improve. This may be stored anonymously or linked to a client record.

Lawful Basis: We process this data as part of entering into or performing a contract with you, or for our legitimate interests in improving the quality of our services.

b.       Information from other sources

To make sure that our website operates properly and is secure. We automatically collect and use technical information about the device you are using to contact us. This includes the use of Cookies, Pixels and Device Identifiers, through the use of third parties. We may receive information from payment companies to manage payments, as part of performing our contract with you.

We may receive information from third parties including transport, accommodation and veterinary providers.

Lawful basis: We process this information as it is in our legitimate interest to do so, in order to provide services to you, or with your consent.

We will only use your data in ways that are compatible with the purposes explained in this notice. If we need to use your personal data for an unrelated purpose, we will notify you and we will explain the legal basis which allows us to do so.

Please note that, where required or permitted in law, we may process your personal data without your knowledge or consent, including additional personal data.

3.      What happens if you don’t give us your information, or it isn’t accurate

If you don’t wish to provide certain information when requested (such as your payment card details), we will not be able to provide you with the service you have requested.

4.      Who we share your personal data with

We share your personal data with the following categories of companies so that we can provide the service you have requested from us. This may include parties that assist in the process of shipping your pet with you, or other parties that work with us such as:

  • Payment service providers (Barclaycard and Global Pay)
  • Airlines
  • Government agencies and other public authorities in the UK and in countries you are travelling to
  • Courier service providers
  • Agents in Country of Destination
  • Catteries, Kennels and veterinary service providers
  • Technology service providers that help us to analyse the data we hold, or which have been approved by you, including social media providers

Where any part of our business is outsourced, sold, or merged, and where permitted by law, we will share your data with the new provider so that we may continue to provide services to you. They may use your personal data in the same way as set out in this policy. We will of course inform you of any such change and give you an opportunity to opt out of your data being shared with a new provider.

5.      International Transfers

IVC Evidensia is a multinational company, and some of our business processes may take place outside of your own country. We ensure that your data continues to be protected to the same standards by:

  • Ensuring that the country has been agreed by data protection regulators to provide an adequate level of protection;
  • Making sure that we have regulator-approved contracts in place to protect your data and rights.
  • In exceptional circumstances, we may also ask for your consent to a data transfer in order to facilitate your travel and where none of the above conditions may be met.

6.      Keeping your personal data safe

We have put in place procedures to deal with any suspected personal data breach, and we will notify you and any applicable regulator of a breach where we are legally required to do so.
