KLM is a Dutch airline, accepting pets on their flights. They have different rules to other airlines, such as British Airlines, where they allow small pets in the cabin as well as in the hold. KLM fly to just under 600 destinations, from Africa to Europe.

To take pets on KLM, they must have a valid passport and up-to-date vaccinations. As with every pet flight, this is important to avoid rabies contaminatination and for EU transport laws.

KLM accept small cats or dogs in their Economy Class, and Business Class for European flights. For this, pets need to have a suitable travel bag or kennel to be allowed on. Arrangements for bringing pets in the cabin must be made prior to flying.

Pets can also be taken on KLM flights when transported in the hold, a ventilated and pressurised section of the aircraft. This is more suitable for larger animals or when the pet is not accepted in the cabin for the flight. Cats and dogs can be taken on KLM flights, with the exception of snub-nosed breeds, such as pugs.

Pets can also be taken on KLM flights and stored separately to the cabin, in a ventilated and pressurised section of the aircraft. This is more suitable for larger animals or when the pet is not accepted in the cabin for the flight. Cats and dogs can be taken on KLM flights, with the exception of snub-nosed breeds, such as pugs.

For KLM flights, pets in the cargo must be stored in IATA approved kennels. These must have a locking door, be made of suitable plastic and have bedding in, such as a blanket/newspaper. More info on pet kennels can be read here.
