Jonkershuis

This family restaurant is situated in the oldest wine estate in Constantia Valley. After taking in the views on a relaxing stroll around the vineyard, you can take your seats in the shaded outdoor area and enjoy some traditional Cape Malay food. Dogs are welcome to join you outside as long as they are on a lead. The staff will even bring you a bowl of water to keep your pooch hydrated.

Eden on the Bay

This open-air beachfront mall is located on the Bloubergstrand strip and is more than just pet-friendly. The mall regularly hosts charity events, adoption days and even beach walks. As well as a beautiful white beach, there’s also a huge lawn overlooking the sea that’s perfect for picnics. Check out Bergzicht Animal Hospital for any grooming requirements, health check-ups or vaccinations while you’re there too.

Noordhoek Beach

There are several dog-friendly beaches in Cape Town but Noordhoek is particularly beautiful. Dogs are allowed off-leash all year and they even have composting bins for dog waste to help you clean up in an eco-friendly way. It’s also great for a swim at low-tide!

De Waal Park

This popular community park is located in Oranjezicht and attracts dog owners from all over Cape Town. It’s a great place to get some exercise and there’s even a Victorian water fountain for your pooch to cool off in if it gets a bit hot! Dogs are allowed off-leash here but only if their temperament permits. Nervous or aggressive dogs should be kept on a lead.

Leadville Dog Park, Cape Town

This off-leash dog park is a one-stop shop for all your dog’s needs. Open daily from 7am-7pm, the park features different areas for large and small dogs, as well as a water fountain for them to splash in. There’s also a training academy, grooming centre and on-site pet store. For humans, you can sit back and relax watching your dog having fun in the park with a coffee from Reload Espresso Bar.
